Preview builds

Installing a preview build

The desktop builds are not yet code-signed, so your computer will warn you the first time. Here is how to open them.

macOS

  1. Open the .dmg and drag Otheon into Applications.
  2. Right-click (or Control-click) Otheon in Applications and choose Open, then Open again in the dialog.
  3. If macOS still blocks it: System Settings, then Privacy & Security, scroll to the message about Otheon and choose Open Anyway.

Windows

  1. Run Otheon-Setup-win-x64.exe.
  2. When SmartScreen says Windows protected your PC, choose More info.
  3. Choose Run anyway. The installer then runs like any other app.

Signed builds are coming

Once the Apple and Microsoft signing certificates are in place, these steps go away and updates install themselves. Until then, only download Otheon from this page.

Is Otheon free?

Browsing is free. Consultation fees are set by each clinic and shown before you request. During development, payments run in test mode, so nothing is charged.

Do I need an account to browse?

No. You can search and read clinic profiles without signing in. You need an account to request a consultation, message a clinic or leave a review, and you must be 18 or over.

Where is Otheon available?

Launching in Dubai, with the UK next. You can browse from anywhere.

When does the iPhone app ship?

It is in private testing on TestFlight. Public availability follows App Store review, and this page updates the moment it is live.

What is the desktop app for?

The same Otheon, built for the clinic side: requests, messages and listings on a bigger screen. Patients can use it too. It runs on Macs with Apple silicon and on 64-bit Windows.

Why does my computer warn me about the download?

The preview builds are not yet code-signed, so macOS and Windows flag them as from an unidentified developer. The steps above open them. Signed builds are coming.
